Introduction of Paediatric Orthopaedics
The department was established in the year 2006. In this decade long journey more than 10000 neonates having club feet have been successfully treated at our Institute. Equal number of neglected and recurrent club feet have undergone successful surgical correction by a novel technique described by our chief Paediatric Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Viraj Shingade.
More than 12000 children with cerebal-palsy have been surgically treated successfully. Many of them are now independent and persuing their dreams. Round the clock availability of highly specialised and qualified professionals required in the field of cerebal-palsy make our department unique and one of its kind in central India.
The department was instrumental in starting the institute for management of congenital radio-ulnar-synostosis. In this decade long journey more than 500 individuals having congenital radio-ulnar-synostosis have been successfully treated at our Institute by a novel technique described by our chief Paediatric Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Viraj Shingade.
More than 1.5 lakhs children having congenital, developmental and other paediatric orthopaedic problems have been benefitted through our Out patient services.
